BE IMMERSED IN 16TH CENTURY EUROPE…..

The Two Rivers Renaissance Faire invites all public, private, and homeschool educators and students to join us for our annual School Day: Voyage Across the Seas! This exciting event takes place on Friday, January 31st, 2025. Students will step back in time as they enter the sights and sounds of New Market Village and embark on an immersive voyage into the fascinating world of the 16th century.

Students will interact with costumed characters representing the courts, culture, art, science, and literature of the Renaissance Period. Jousting knights, musicians, jesters, and magicians perform on stages and arenas throughout the village. With our interactive fair map stops, students will embark on their own voyage of discovery, take in captivating shows, and explore the vibrant life of the Renaissance era!

Artisans in period dress will demonstrate the technological advances of the Renaissance age through live demonstrations in pottery, leather tooling, blacksmithing, armor making, and other arts and trades of this remarkable period. Visit with Elizabeth I and have the honor of being knighted by her Majesty. Interact with pirates from Clan Darksail who will introduce you to the history of gunpowder and demonstrate cannon fire. You may even challenge your fellow classmates or your teacher to a round of archery.

SCHOOL DAY DETAILS

The Two Rivers Renaissance Faire invites all public, private, and homeschool educators and students to join us for our annual School Day: Voyage Across the Seas! This event will take place on Friday, January 31st, 2025, from 10 AM to 2 PM. Admission is $2 per student/chaperone, and you will purchase your tickets at the window with the “School Day” sign—no pre-registration required. Keep your wristband for entry throughout the weekend!

Voyage Map and Quest Booth

Upon arrival, stop by the Quest Booth near the front entrance to pick up your Voyage Map and Questions. These tools will guide you on your self-paced voyage of discovery, helping students immerse themselves in the Renaissance era. At the end of the voyage, students will share their newfound knowledge with Queen Elizabeth I to receive a special token (different from the general quest prize).

Must-See Events

• Joust: 2 PM at the Arena

• Queen’s Knighting Ceremony: 3 PM at the Royal Court

• Clan Darksail History of Gunpowder Show: 3:30 PM near the front entrance

Throughout the Day

• Blacksmiths: Watch live demonstrations of Renaissance craftsmanship.

• Archery Range: Test your aim (additional cost applies).

• Hands-on History with Amy Farrell: Located near the food court, discover historical artifacts and stories up close.

• School Day Discount: Admission is only valid at the discounted price during the hours of 10 AM to 2 PM. Regular admission pricing applies after 2 PM.

• No Pre-Sale: Tickets are only available for purchase at the event.
